Enevate was named in the 2021 Global Cleantech 100 List of Innovators for second year in a row!

“IRVINE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Enevate, a pioneer in advanced silicon-dominant lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery technology featuring extreme fast charging and high energy density for electric vehicles (EVs), was selected from among thousands of companies around the world for Cleantech Group’s 2021 Global Cleantech 100 list. This is the second year in a row that Enevate has been named to the prestigious list.”

What is the Global Cleantech 100 List?

“In total, more than 11,500 companies from more than 75 countries were nominated for this year’s Global Cleantech 100. Nominees were weighted and scored to create a short list of 321 companies reviewed by the 91 members of our Expert Panel. The final list contains the companies the market agrees are well positioned today to make significant impact in the next 5-10 years.

The sectors of industry included on the list are:

  • Agriculture & Food
  • Solar
  • Energy Storage
  • Smartgrid
  • Transportation
  • Advanced Materials
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Waste Water
  • Air
  • Recycling & Waste
  • Wind
  • Conventional Fuels
  • Biofuels & Biochemicals
  • Fuel Cells & Hydrogen
It’s an exciting time to be working in industries promoting sustainability and zero-emissions.

There is so much opportunity in many fields, so many problems to solve. For instance, the growing electric vehicle industry makes this the “Golden Era” of batteries, as well as radar technologies and machine learning.

What we choose to value in at this time will decide the fate of humanity and all life on Earth. While there is no doubt advances in technologies can make the world a better place and support mitigating global issues like climate change, solving social issues is just as important. Giving girls around the world access to education and reproductive resources and rights promotes sustainability and improves the health of communities. Reforming the justice system improves public health as well.

Early in my career I was excited to pursue a career developing clean energy technology to promote sustainability and mitigate climate change; however, the more I learned about our world the more I realized technology is not the only (or primary) solution. Suggesting the best or only way to positively change the world is through a career in STEM is misguided advice. There is ample opportunity and room for everyone to embrace their unique talents and contribute toward a brighter future.
